3 minutes readNestled in the heart of Rizal, Philippines, Antipolo is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Amid the city’s many attractions, there’s a hidden gem that truly stands out – Hinulugang Taktak National Park. Located in Sitio Taktak, Barangay De La Paz, this park is a delightful blend of history, nature, and adventure, all set against a picturesque backdrop.
A Glimpse into History
Hinulugang Taktak is not just a pretty waterfall; it’s a place steeped in history and folklore. Rising to a majestic height of 12 meters, this cascading wonder gained nationwide fame thanks to the timeless Filipino song “Tayo na sa Antipolo” by German San Jose, known as Gerry Brandy. The song’s catchy melody and lyrics made Antipolo and Hinulugang Taktak a must-visit destination.
On June 15, 1952, recognizing its cultural significance, the Philippine government declared Hinulugang Taktak a National Park, ensuring its preservation for generations to come.
An Affordable Getaway
One of the most appealing aspects of Hinulugang Taktak National Park is its accessibility to all. The park offers free entrance, making it an ideal destination for budget-conscious travelers and families. But the generosity doesn’t end there – visitors can enjoy complimentary rock climbing, access to a swimming pool, and even use of cottages for picnicking.
