Scenic beauty along the Pasig River in Manila, this river esplanade is a perfect mix of scenery and ambiance from the Pasig River. The pathways are well-maintained, providing adequate space for leisurely walks, jogging, biking, and other forms of regular exercise, and as such, is a favorite local and visitor hangout spot. Its scenic beauty lends itself to enjoying the peaceful sounds of the river alongside its gentle currents, watching the boats, and seeing the varying skyline of Metro Manila.

From Polluted Waters to Urban Oasis: The Pasig River Esplanade

A very impressive transformation indeed of the Pasig River Esplanade. What was once an industrial area, faced by environmental concern, has now been transformed into a lively urban space. Recent efforts in restoration have seen improvements in water quality and ambiance in the surrounding environment, thus transforming the place to be an attractive haven for rest and recreation. Convenient ferry stations there offer scenic rides along the river going to Binondo, offering visitors there unique ways of exploring Manila.

How to Get to the Pasig River Esplanade

From LRT-1 Stations:

  • Take LRT-1 to Carriedo Station.
  • Ride a jeepney to Pier 5 or hop on a tuktuk and tell the driver to drop you off at Jones Bridge.

From Pasay:

  • Option 1: Take the LRT-1 to Central Station and enjoy a walk towards Jones Bridge.
  • Option 2: Board a jeepney with a Divisoria sign and drop off at either Manila City Hall or Binondo.

What to Do at the Pasig River Esplanade

Anyone-from those wanting to just relax, be active, or meet and be among the rest of the community-can find a suitable destination at the Pasig River Esplanade. It’s during the day, more so if an introverted person needs some quiet time alone-a morning walk or quiet picnic by the riverbank is refreshing indeed. But if you’re coming with your friends, then the best time is evening when the skyline lights up. By evening, the esplanade is full of food stalls and entertainment at times, and it is perfect for social meetings. Above all this, the evening breeze feels cool, so you can enjoy yourself more. Be it alone or with someone; the esplanade has some special moments to make it perfect at all times of the day.
